With the kids over traveling and the leak seeming to get worse I opted not to take the car out today. They opted to stay behind and attempt the bush assault course at Gumleaves. The zip line across the Billabong was a particular favourite
I managed to organise a lift with another driver and away we went to do the Swanston track. This is accessed directly from the Gumleaves gate. You turn left instead of right and onto the main road.
The track runs between Buckland Military Area on one side and a private reserve on the other, its a little rocky a but easily managed by even stock vehicles. The rocks would be quite slippery in the wet I would imagine.
Once we reached Swanston we looped back to the coast via a few more lookouts and the Wielangta Forest Drive and then back through Otford and back to Gum leaves.
That night at camp a huge wind came up which left many of us running to pull down awnings and rescue towels and drying clothes. We all elected to cook and eat under the covered BBQ’s, which even though a little smoky, led to a very convivial atmosphere. There were a few dusty heads the next morning.
