After so many km’s driving, today was all about the kids. So we jumped in the car and headed to Tasmazia and the village of Lower Crackpot.
This is twee, but strangely cute attraction in a town called Promised Land which is just down the road from Nowhere Else (I kid you not!). And what can I say but the kids loved it. Its about 35 minutes out of Devenport and 1 1/4 hours from Longford.
You do have to be wary of travelling in Tasmania. What looks like a simple hours journey on the map, and would be on the mainland, take about 1.5 times as long…
There are about 5 mazes here and you do have a real possibility of getting lost as you wander round. The boys were given a little map book with things to find and cross off and loved haring around trying to find them and get out of the mazes.
In the centre of the maze is a whimsical village built at 1/5 scale called Lower Crackpot and along one side is Cubby Town with a village made of Cubby houses.
Its a great way to spend the day with the young kids, who were exhausted by the end of it.
We took the scenic route back around Mount Roland and back via Mole Creek which gave us some great views
