For the school holidays in September we decided to take a road-trip from Sydney to Fraser. Its the first time we’ve taken the new 6month old bub camping and we weren’t sure how she’d cope in the car and with camping. It would be a long two weeks otherwise.
The other issue we have is that being winter and we were in a tent. It was going to be cold until we hit Queensland.
To make things interesting we were planning on doing much of the way inland on the New England highway rather than the coastal Pacific Highway. We figured that being Sept school holidays the Pacific Highway would be chokkas of holiday makers. To make things easy with the baby we were planning on only 3-4 hours driving a day with lots of breaks around the the bub’s awake times.
There was a mad scramble to get the car ready in the preceding few weeks, getting a new set of custom drawers fitted by Drifta in Gloucester, NSW, new suspension and 2″ inch from ARB St. Peters, and having the injectors replaced on the car.
Now all we have to do is learn how to pack the car with the new drawers
